Spring and summer flowering, usually
blue or white, though sometimes purple plants.
Polemonium
or Jacob's ladder are best grown in full sun or partial shade, but more
sun than shade. Propagation is by seed or by the division of established
plants in the spring.
They are variable in height even for the
same species and variety depending on the conditions that they are grown
in, but most are 12-36 inches tall and about half the height in spread
making them suitable for the middle of mixed borders.
