These perennial V. spicata cultivars are
mat-forming perennials that come in shades of blue, white and red,
though to my eye the blue shades are far and away the most attractive.
They are fairly unfussy about soil though
in very rich fertile ground will probably celebrate by growing more
foliage than they will flowers, putting on growth while the going is
good and leaving reproduction (=flowering) until later on.
They can be grown in full sun or partial
shade.
Propagation is from seed, division in

They may suffer from fungal diseases such
as mildews or leaf spot.
